Construction and program development are underway now that the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville says all of its early learning and child care spaces allocated by the province have been approved.
The 637 spaces are being funded by the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario, under the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, which supports the
creation of affordable, high-quality licensed child care.
They include 39 toddler and preschool spaces at Bells Corners Nursery School in Spencerville and 42 new infant, toddler, and preschool spaces with the YMCA of Eastern Ontario in Cardinal.
It’s expected all will be operational by Dec. 31, 2026.
