Prescott firefighter and parade organizer talks Light Up The Night 2022

Chris Veltkamp says his team at the Prescott Fire Department is excited for the return of its annual Light Up the Night Christmas parade.

“Unfortunately, COVID threw a bit of a wrench in our normal festivities, but we’re back better than ever and we’re extremely fortunate and excited,” says Veltkamp, a member of the Fire Department helping to organize the parade. “It’s going to be a great way to start the holiday season.”

In terms of what to expect at the parade itself, Veltkamp says there will be more than 100 floats, with participants from multiple other local fire departments and multiple bands performing.

“It’s just a really fun night, not only for the young kids, but the young at heart,” Veltkamp adds, “and some of our adults, as well, really love it.”

The parade is happening on Friday, November 18th. You can read more about it, including the route, here.
