“Light Up The Night” Christmas parade returns to Prescott November 18th

Santa Claus is coming to town in a few weeks.

The Prescott Fire Department is looking for volunteers to take part in its annual “Light Up The Night” Christmas parade.

According to Fire Department staff, there’s no advance registration or fee required to have a float in the parade, but participants are being encouraged to follow this year’s theme of “help Santa light up the night” when decorating their floats.

The parade is scheduled to begin at the South Grenville District High School parking lot at 7:00 PM November 18th. The route will see floats moving south on Edward Street, west along King Street, and north on St. Lawrence as they begin to disperse.

Anyone interested in taking part is being asked to show up at the school parking lot at least one hour before the parade begins, so organizers can place them in the procession.

If you want to have candy or other handouts with your float, organizers are asking you to make sure it’s handed to spectators, rather than thrown, to make sure kids don’t run out into the street to grab any.

You can find more information on the Prescott Fire Department’s Facebook page.
