Local cannabis facility gets green light from Health Canada

Fleurish Cannabis Inc. got a licence to grow from Health Canada. The company, which set up shop just outside of Oxford Station, is moving forward with growing cannabis in its 20,000 square foot facility. The licence came through on August 3. Fleurish founder Renée Ellison established the company in 2013. Incoming Chief Marketing Officer Mary Beth Williamson says it’s been a long process getting to this point.

About 75 per cent of the facility will be used to grow cannabis, with all products geared specifically towards women. Fleurish will produce cannabis with lower THC levels and specific smells and tastes more appealing to women. Williamson says there is still work to be done.

Health Canada will come in to ensure consistency of products and the ability to follow procedures before issuing a licence to sell. Williamson says the company will bring new jobs to the area.

The facility is located on 20 acres of land and has the potential to expand in the future. For more details about Fleurish, click here.
