Pathways to Production pairs people with manufacturing jobs

A free program is encouraging people to explore the manufacturing industry. Pathways to Production pairs workers with local employers.

The 6-week program is being offered through CSE Consulting in Prescott, starting on October 28. Participants will spend three weeks learning new skills, followed by a two-week paid placement and final debrief. The goal is for people to land permanent jobs through their placement.

Job Developer Rod Palmer says CSE is trying to meet the needs of employers who are looking to hire quality individuals committed to long-term employment.

He noted the average wage in manufacturing is between $16 and $18 per hour to start.

Palmer says the program is open to anyone over the age of 18. He explained employers are seeking people with manual dexterity, common sense when it comes to mechanical operation and some abilities in math.

Pathways to Production is also being run in Brockville starting in January. For more information, click here or call 613-925-0222.
