Local Government Week in Prescott

Next week in the Town of Prescott will be Local Government Week and Ontario Public Library Week.

The proclamation was made during September 25th’s Town Council meeting and the town have now announced the initiatives they will be hosting. All five schools in Prescott were sent invitations for a Talk and Tour of the municipal building, including a short tour of Town Hall and overview of municipal operations. This will be followed by an interactive question and answer session in Council Chambers. There will be a municipal open house on October 17th from noon to 3:00pm and again from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Interested parties will be able to visit a number of areas in Town Hall, sit in a councillor or the mayor’s chair, watch the Town’s newest promotional video and complete the 2018 Capital Expenditures Input Survey. The Input Survey will be released during this week but it will be available online until the end of the month and the results will be tallied during November.

The town will be hosting a photography contest with the goal of capturing why the Town of Prescott is the best place to live. Photos can be submitted through email to [email protected] or privately over any of the Town’s social media platforms. All entrants will have their names entered into a draw on October 23rd and the winner will receive a Town of Prescott gift basket.
In addition there will be a Progress Prescott Business Networking Night on Thursday October 19th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and the town will start accepting nominations for the 2018 Community Awards.
