This competition is open to the town’s residents, businesses and groups. According to Tourism and Recreation Coordinator Katie Allard there are two ways to enter and two prizes to be won.
Participants can share a photo of their scarecrow with the Prescott Communities in Bloom Facebook page to be entered into a random draw on October 18th. The winner of the draw can choose between two tickets to Fort Henry’s Fort Fright, Fort Wellington’s GHOST Tour or Upper Canada Village’s PumpkInferno.
Scarecrows can also be submitted at the Prescott Public Library before October 21st. The scarecrows will then be secured downtown for display and people choice ballets can be cast at Fort Town Mercantile and the Prescott Zombie Walk on October 28th. Results will be announced at the end of the Zombie Walk and the winner will receive four tickets to PumpkInferno.
The only rules put forward are that scarecrows must be homemade and built to withstand outdoor display.
