Break and Enter ends in numerous charges

A Brockville man has been charged again following an early morning break in.

Brockville Police say they have charged a 24-year-old man from Brockville with Criminal Harassment, Break and Enter, and three counts of breaching his probation. The charges stem from an incident early Sunday morning when police received a call from the accused’s ex-girlfriend. She told police that just after 6:00am he had kicked her door in, entered her apartment and began throwing things around.

While officers were responding to the call Brockville communication staff stayed on the phone to ensure her safety and update officers. The accused had fled the scene when officers arrived but they did find a shattered door with pieces scattered in the living room.

Police interviewed the victim, and checked each floor of the apartment along with the perimeter, but were not able to locate the suspect. Fortunately for police shortly after 9:00am the accused returned to the scene and was arrested for Break and Enter before being taken into custody. Further investigation the man was under restrictions from two probation orders that had been levied in September.
