Two teenagers are facing charges under the Highway Traffic Act after an OPP traffic stop.
According to the OPP at the Leeds and 1000 Island detachment they stopped a speeding vehicle heading west on Highway 401 shortly before 2:00am on August 13th. The vehicle was travelling 57 kilometers over the speed limit. As a result of the officer’s investigation a 17-year-old from Kitchener had his vehicle towed and impounded for 7 days. He is also being charged with stunt driving.
The OPP say the investigation also revealed a sixth passenger lying down in the car’s locked trunk. The 17-year-old trunk passenger is facing a seatbelt charge under the Highway Traffic Act.
