Ontario government encouraging the public to go outside

The Government of Ontario is challenging the public to go outside.

During the month of August the Ontario Government and Ontario Parks are teaming up to encourage people to participate in the 30×30 Challenge. The 30×30 Challenge is a concept created by the David Suzuki Foundation that pushes people to reconnect with nature by spending 30 minutes a day outside for 30 days.

According to the challenge spending time outside is part of a healthy lifestyle. They say even time spent in your backyard or a local park can help boost your immune system, decrease stress and even help alleviate symptoms of some mental health issues.

Parks Ontario will be holding a free day across the province on August 16th as part of the initiative. There are over 330 provincial parks in Ontario and they cover more than eight million hectares.
