Brockville Police is warning residents about a phone scam that has been targeting the area recently.
It’s being called the “grandparent scam” as older residents are receiving calls stating that their son or grandson is being held in custody.
They are then told to send money through Western Union or their family member will not be released.
Although victims who have received the calls have said that they sound very convincing, Brockville Police is warning not to be fooled.
