New Catholic School To Be Built In Smiths Falls

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has announced that there will be a new catholic school built in Smiths Falls.
The new school will accommodate kindergarten to grade eight, and will replace and receive students from the St. Francis and St. James elementary schools in the area.
The new elementary school will be built at the current St. Luke High School site and will hold up to 423 students. A pre-school and toddler child care program will also be part of the new building, as well as a community support centre supported by Lanark County.
Secondary school students at St. Luke will move to St. James elementary in the interim, which will become the new high school once the elementary students have moved out.
The new catholic elementary school is scheduled to open in September 2018.
