With the long weekend coming up, the OPP is reminding boaters to be safe. Police remind you to have the proper safety gear on board including a floating rope, flashlight, pea-less whistle, bailing bucket, paddle and life jackets for everyone aboard. If your vessel is larger, you also require a fire extinguisher and proper flares. Finally, Police remind you that drinking and boating come with the same penalties as drinking and driving.
