Upgrading the lighting at the Sandra S. Lawn Harbour and Marina in Prescott is going to cost more than first thought.
Prescott Council has approved an additional $70,000 to complete the electrical upgrade work after an electrical service design determined that substantial upgrades were required.
Back in March, council approved $493,000 from a $500,000 budget for the work with the extra money coming from a contingency fund that was set aside in case it was needed.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar tells Moose FM that all of the work should be completed over the next couple of weeks.
“Over the last two or three years we have probably put over $1.5 million dollars into that marina so everything is up to standard now, up to grade, so it’s almost like a brand new marina.”
The 128-slip marina offers dockage on a seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily basis.
