Prescott Fire Department unveils new fire truck

The Prescott Fire Department will soon be rolling out their newest addition to their fleet.

The department has acquired a 2025 pump and rescue truck, made by manufacturer Rosenbauer, that will be used for calls along Highway 401 and outside of town.

The department’s current pump and rescue truck will be used for in town calls and the new one is expected to be put into use at the end of the month or in early June, once it has all its equipment loaded.

Senior Pump Operator Ryan Sobhie tells Moose FM that the new truck will be equipped with both suppression and extraction tools which will be key in emergencies.

“We are a very small municipality and to be able to get a truck like this, this quality of truck, it means a lot to us as a department to know we have the backing of the town.”

Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar and councillors were shown the new truck before their meeting on Monday night.
