Prescott Town Council continues to keep councillor Ruth Lockett in their thoughts.
Lockett passed away on March 31 after falling at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre and being placed into a medically induced coma.
Under the municipal act, Lockett’s place on council must be filled and that work continues with a discussion expected to take place at the regular meeting on May 20.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar tells Moose FM that Lockett was responsible for a number of important areas.
“Her portfolio was finance, double checking all the cheques that went out, making sure there were two signatures for payroll and stuff like that.”
Shankar adds that council will vote at the meeting on how best to move forward.
