Prescott’s new Director of Operations is a familiar face in the area.
The town announced in late August that they were looking to hire someone new for the position after Nathan Richard left to take a job in the private sector.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar says there was a long interview process after 15 serious applicants applied. They were eventually narrowed down to three contenders.
Shankar says they decided to hire Matthew Locke who had been working for the City of Brockville.
“He’s a civil engineer, he’s up and coming, he presents well, I think he’ll do very well for the Town of Prescott.”
Locke’s first day on the job will be November 11.
