Outlaw motorcycle gang members expected in Gananoque on Friday

Police are warning the public about the presence of the Outlaw motorcycle gang in Gananoque.

Gananoque Police and the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit say they anticipate the presence of the gang and their associates in the town on Friday.

They say outlaw motorcycle gangs are among criminal organizations whose wide array of criminal activity can cause harm and victimization in communities across Ontario.

Gananoque Police Sgt. Mike Driscoll tells the Moose FM Newsroom that Friday the 13th used to be a big deal in Port Dover but in 2018 there was an incident between the Hells Angels and the Outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Since then, he says the Outlaw gang chose Gananoque as their gathering place for the event.

Residents are being reminded that these events have happened over the last few years with minimal disruption.

Gananoque Police say they, and other outside agencies, have taken proper precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens and visitors.
