You’ll be able to push down a little harder on the gas peddle on Highway 416 beginning on Friday.
That’s the day the speed limit on the highway, between Highway 401 and Ottawa, will increase from 100 kilometres an hour to 110 kilometres an hour.
The same change is also taking place on several parts of Highway 401, including between Belleville and Kingston.
North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford says the province has done its homework and looked at the design of Highway 416, in particular, when deciding to increase the speed.
She adds it’s up to drivers to be prudent and decide how fast they want to go.
