Augusta Fire Rescue hosting “Fall Fest” fundraising barbecue next week

Firefighters in Augusta are inviting residents to tour the station and learn about fire safety while helping them buy some new equipment.

Augusta Fire Rescue is running an event called “Fall Fest” as part of Fire Prevention Week, an annual awareness initiative to teach people steps they can take to avoid fires in their home.

People will be able to tour the fire station and the inside of a firetruck, learn to use a fire extinguisher, and enjoy a barbecue lunch.

Food will cost $5 or $10 per person depending on what you want to eat, and all the money is going towards buying new jaws of life, a tool used to get people out of vehicle wrecks.

Fall Fest is happening on October 14th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Fire Station 1 in Maitland.
