Inconsistent weather affecting Prescott outdoor rinks, walking trails

Several walking trails in Prescott are now closed because of ice buildup.

The Town of Prescott says it closed the Centennial Park walking paths, part of the Heritage River Trail, and a section of the Sandra S. Lawn Harbor and Marina.

Barricades have been added around the closed areas, and the town recommends you keep your distance from them to make sure you don’t hurt yourself while out for a walk.

The town also says its outdoor rinks have reopened. The two rinks were temporarily closed on February 10th, because of warm weather affecting the thickness of the ice.

With more warm weather expected over the next few days, the town says the rinks may have to close again later this week. Updates for both the trail closures and the rinks will be posted to the Town of Prescott Facebook page.
