A local artist has made it to the finals for an Etsy Award. Jeannette Froese Leblanc says she is pleasantly surprised to be in the top ten for the Canadian online awards.
She got the good news right around the same time she heard about the fires in Fort Mac. Right away she started contacting her artist friends in Alberta.
If Leblanc wins, she plans to do something really cool with the $10,000 in prize money. She wants to send it to Fort MacMurray, to help those who have been displaced from their homes.
