Counties Council adopts new asset management plan

A new asset management plan is in place for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. The plan was adopted on November 14.

Dillon Consulting and Watson Economists put together the plan, which replaces the one from 2014. The counties got a $50,000 grant to pay for its development.

Staff and consultants have been working on the plan for the past year. It includes all assets, including roads and bridges, social housing, facilities and equipment.

The plan incorporates growth related assets such as County Road 43, a new paramedic station and Maple View Lodge redevelopment.

A 10-year financial strategy is also included in the plan. It addresses impact on taxation, debt and reserves.

The plan is a living document that will guide council’s decision making related to assets and infrastructure.
