The union representing college faculty across Ontario are on strike as of 12:01 this morning.
All classes have been suspended at all three St. Lawrence College campuses with the exception of some work and field placement activities. The campuses will all be open with managers and support staff attending for work. According to a press release from the college most services are operating as usual. The college reminds anyone attending to expect picket lines and to prepare for delays while faculty share information.
The union and colleges are continuing negotiations but so far the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement. College President and CEO Glenn Vollebregt points out that the campuses will still be active.
Vollebregt added that the situation doesn’t please him.
A complete list of available facilities and services can be found here. The college will be posting regular updates on the strike to its website. There may also be information there that can answer some of your questions. That website can be found here.
