South Grenville Rangers Weekend

The Rangers weekend was cut in half with the unfortunate news about their home arena.

After the Leo Boivin Community Centre in Prescott was closed for maintenance last week the Ranger’s Saturday night contest against the Metcalfe Jets had to be postponed. There has been no word yet on when the game will be rescheduled.

Sunday’s rematch from last weekend against the Papineau Vikings was a road game and was played as planned. The Viking’s hyper charged offence put their foot down in the first and jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Unfortunately the pounding wouldn’t stop there as the Vikings scored five in the second and cruised to an 11-2 victory over the Rangers. The Vikings had five players tally four points this game including two goal, two assist performances from Justin Labrosse and Jacob Osbourne.

Carson Pickup and Simon Watt both collected a goal and an assist in the loss. Kristopher Laushway had 32 penalty minutes by the time the game ended.

The Rangers will try to get back on track Saturday at 7:30pm when they travel to Chesterville and District Arena to play the North Dundas Rockets.
