The Papineau Viking’s league leading offense was stopped cold this weekend by the South Grenville Rangers.
Facing a team that had scored a league leading 27 goals in five games didn’t faze the Rangers, who delivered a 4-0 dismantling of Papineau. Lee Spurgeon and the South Grenville defensemen shut down league leading scorer Jacob Osbourne for the first time this season.
Carson Pickup and Devon Burns led the offensive charge with multi-point games. Pickup’s goal and assist moved him past Dillon Cameron and Brody Ranger into first for total points on the team and goals.
The Rangers will be back at the Leo this Saturday for a game with the Metcalf Jets before a rematch with the Vikings in Papineau on Sunday.
