2000 schools receiving Parents Reaching Out grants

The province wants to get parents involved in their children’s education.

That’s why the province has announced it will be providing Parents Reaching Out grants to more than 2,000 schools in Ontario this year. The province says getting parents involved can help kids earn higher grade and improve their behaviour and social skills.

Last year, a number of local schools received Parents Reaching Out grants from the province:

– Holy Cross Catholic School in Kemptville and North Grenville District High School each received $500 for workshops to teach parents techniques to support their child’s achievement and well-being in areas like financial literacy and mental health.

– Kemptville Public School and Wellington Elementary Public School each received $1,000 to host workshops to provide parents with math information and resources to support their child’s education.

– South Grenville District High School received $1,000 to host an informative and interactive event for parents and students to learn more about healthy lifestyle choices, and how to deal with substance use.
