The 401 is closed West bound between Brookdale Avenue in Cornwall and Moulinette Road, near mile marker 778.
Construction crews are currently working on an issue with the bridge at Highway 401 and Avonmore Road. According to the OPP the emergency routes are marked while approaching the closure and they will lead you onto County Road 2. The highway is also closed at the Power Dam due to traffic.
Due to construction in the Village of Long Sault commuters should expect long delays and the closure to remain in place for several hours.
