Culture Days is back across Ontario this weekend.
The three day celebration of arts and culture is being put on for a third time in Brockville. The bulk of the activities will take place on a closed off King Street from 9:00am until 4:00pm on Saturday. The organizers with the Brockville event say last year’s was the fifth biggest for cities with a population of 50,000 or less, based on the number of participants. They add these calculations are done through the website and that around 60 per cent of their participants actually registered.
Some of the weekend’s big draws include the Brockville Armouries Open House, Brockville Farmer’s Market, AOG Gallery Open House and a performance by the 1000 Islands Chorus. The Culture Days initiative is meant to build appreciation and support for artistic and cultural life at the community level. It also allows the community to connect with local artists so they know what is available in the area.
