The first game in South Grenville Ranger’s franchise history didn’t go as planned.
The Rangers were up 2-1 after the first period but couldn’t hang on to the lead. They pulled the goalie in an attempt to tie the game up but Gatineau Hull-Volant potted the empty net goal for a 5-3 final. Lee Spurgeon takes the loss in net while Devon Burns, Dillon Cameron and Kristopher Laushway all tallied goals. Assists on the evening came from Devan Miller, Brody Ranger and Simon Watt. Burns also led the team in penalty minutes with 15.
The Rangers next take the ice on Friday when they’ll be in Ottawa to play the Bytown Royals. They also have a game Saturday at the Finch Community Arena in Morrisburg, where they will play the Lions.
