The Brockville Police are investigating a series of thefts on Bartholomew Street.
According to police they are investigating four reported break-ins between Friday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after noon on Monday a Bartholomew Street resident returned home to find someone had entered her home through a kitchen window. A number of items were taken, including personal and electronic items.
After this police say they were alerted to two similar break-ins on Bartholomew Street. In the late afternoon police responded to a caller who claimed someone had entered their home over the weekend. The victim did not believe anything was missing while speaking with police. At 7:00pm police were called to a third residence that had been broken into, this time through a side window. This resident is still compiling a list of missing items.
Finally around 1:30pm on Tuesday a woman reported to police that her car had been broken into while parked on Bartholomew Street. The vehicle was parked on the street between 9:30am and 12:30pm and when the woman returned she found her purse had been stolen.
Brockville Police say in all three cases access was gained through a window, adding that all three residences were between the CN tracks and Reynold Drive on Bartholomew Street. Officers investigated all four scenes and collected forensic evidence. All four remain under investigation.
