The Augusta Township Municipal Awareness and Volunteer Opportunities Day has been postponed.
The postponement comes after the township released a statement saying it was with great sadness and loss that they learnt about the passing of the township’s Deputy Mayor George Elliott.
The municipality says Elliott will be missed but not forgotten.
The municipality says the event will be rescheduled. That date has not yet been announced. It was to take place Thursday and included a volunteer appreciation barbecue.
