Country music fundraiser for seniors coming soon

Community and Primary Health Care are fundraising with an afternoon of country music.

On August 26th Community and Primary Health Care (CPHC) are putting on an outdoor country music concert featuring five local musicians. There will be performances by Craig Curtis, Angie Halladay, Jordy Jackson and Ron & Joy Edgley. The show will take place outside of the school grounds of Pineview Public School, which can be found at 8 George Street in Athens.

There will be a bar and barbeque at the concert, the Athens Fire Department are handling the barbeque and the Athens Lions Club is donating their time to tend the bar. The CPHC say all proceeds from food and drink sold will be added to the final fundraising total. Organizers suggest bringing your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on and an umbrella if you’re sensitive to the sun.

CPHC are a community group focused on improving quality of life for seniors. They aim to provide services that allow seniors to keep living in their own homes and communities for as long as they can while still being safe and healthy.

The concert’s gates open at 10:00am with the first performance starting at 11:00am. Organizers believe the event will be finished around 4:00pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at CPHC Brockville, Portland or Athens, at the Elgin Street Garage in Athens or by contacting Pam Shaver at (613) 802-4632.
