OPP reminder about the morning after drinking

The OPP want to remind the public about drinking and driving after a traffic stop this weekend.

At around 11:00am on Sunday Grenville OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check on Dixon Road in Augusta Township. While checking to make sure drivers were sober officers determined that a 19-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was charged with driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood stream. His license was also suspended 90 days and his vehicle impounded for a week.

The OPP want to use this opportunity to remind the public that an evening of drinking can leave you impaired the next morning. There is no way to speed alcohol out of your system, including sleep, food or drinking coffee. The OPP encourage the public to be aware of the risks that come with driving the morning after and to always report drunk drivers.
