OPP in Leeds County warn of increased traffic this weekend

The OPP are warning the public in Leeds County to expect increased traffic on the roads this weekend.

The Leeds County OPP are reminding the public that the annual St. Vincent and Grenadines Unity Picnic (AKA Vincy Unity Picnic) is taking place at Brown’s Bay Provincial Park on Saturday, July 15th. They expect thousands to attend the event.

The Vincy Unity Picnic is an annual gathering of members of St. Vincent and the Grenadines associations. This year’s event is being organized by the Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal associations. There will be musical acts throughout the day and a number of different activities for kids. The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented at the picnic by the Minister of Health, Wellness and Environment the Honorable Robert Luke Browne.

The OPP say they will be increasing their presences on the 1000 Islands Parkway to improve the flow of the increased traffic. Anyone attending the picnic, or travelling in the area, can expect delays.
