The OPP are asking for the public’s assistance after a pedestrian was found dead on the shoulder of Highway 417.
At 2:30pm on July 2nd Russel County OPP say they were responded to a report of a deceased person on the side of Highway 417 near mile marker 88. Officers attending the scene located a woman that had been struck by a passing vehicle. The 34-year-old woman has been identified as being from Ottawa but her identity is being withheld until her next is notified.
According to police part of Highway 417 was closed with detours in place but it reopened early Monday morning. The investigation is on-going and Russel County OPP ask anyone who may have information to contact them.
