St. Lawrence College turns 50 this year and they’re inviting alumni, retirees, staff and their families to join them in celebration.
The festivities start June 24th on the Kingston Campus but there will also be celebrations held on the two other campuses. Cornwall will host their event on July 8th with Brockville having theirs’ on July 15th. Organizers say they expect the days to be filled with fun, reunions and reminiscing.
The day starts with Rise and Shine Morning Stretch, a morning of light yoga and stretching on the campus grounds, from 9 to 10:30am. Then from 11:00am to 4:00pm the SLC Alumni Family BBQ and Entertainment portion of the day will take place. Some of the things organizers have planned include; an inflatable midway, magician, 3D chalk artist, classic car show and the “SLC Sweethearts” booth. There will also be music from the past 50 years.
Finally the day ends with an outdoor concert featuring 2010 St. Lawrence College Mechanical Engineering Graduate, Nashville recording artist, singer-songwriter Kyle Dunn and his band, many of home also graduated from the college. JJ Thompson, a graduate of the college’s Musical Theatre program will also be performing with the band JJ & the Pillars. The evening will end with karaoke of songs from grad years.
