Park street hit and run investigation continues

The Brockville Police are continuing their investigation of a hit and run on Park Street.

At approximately 2:40am on Sunday police say they received a call about a car crash on Park Street where witnesses watched the vehicle continue south to King Street where it turned east bound. The suspect vehicle was described as a Toyota RAV4 with visible damage to the right front corner.

According to police they found the vehicle later that morning and had it towed to a secure compound. Police say that later in the afternoon the vehicle’s registered owner visited Brockville Police Services to report the car stolen. He told police the vehicle had been parked in the TISS parking lot overnight and that he had left it unlocked with the keys inside.

Brockville Police representatives say the vehicle is now being held for forensic examination by Detective Paul Smith of the Forensic Identification Unit. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact investigating officer Constable Jeff Wiwchar at 613-342-0127 extension 6072.
