Local food banks to benefit from CP Holiday Train November 29th

The CP Holiday train is coming to a stop in Merrickville, at the end of the month. It’s a full-length passenger train, decorated in flashing Christmas lights and carrying live entertainment for the guests at each stop. Joanne Harris says we can expect top-notch entertainment again this year, with Devin Cuddy and Kelly Prescott.

Every year, the CP Holiday train partners with local food banks. This year 4 community food banks will benefit from the cash and food donations you bring along with you to the show, including The Merrickville Emergency Food Cupboard at Merrickville District Community Health Centre, House of Lazarus in Mountain, South Grenville Food Bank  in Prescott and The Client Choice Food Bank at the Salvation Army in Kemptville. Community Health Worker Joanne Harris it’s important to make sure your food donations include healthy choices like tuna, pasta and sauce, soups and peanut butter.

The train rolls into the station at East Broadway and County Road 2 around 4:45pm on Sunday, November 29th. For more information, visit http://www.cpr.ca/en/community/holiday-train.
