Financial Literacy Course To Be Tested On Grade 10 Students

High school students in Ontario will soon start making sense of dollars thanks to a new financial literacy curriculum.

The province has decided to implement a pilot program to introduce financial literacy to Grade 10 students during their half-credit Careers course.

Over 700 students in 28 high schools will learn about budgeting, planning, and saving during the program. The Ministry of Education is also expected to include digital literacy material in the pilot project.

The province hopes to have every high school in Ontario teaching the material by the Fall of 2018.
