One business in Leeds and Grenville has been forced to close their doors due to high hydro rates, and Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark will not let Ontario’s Premier off the hook.
Swan’s Variety in Athens was a family run business in the community for 47 years before a hydro bill of over $7,000 forced the store to shut down.
Clark says these high electricity bills are causing residents in Leeds and Grenville to choose between necessities like heating and eating.
Clark finished his statement at Tuesday’s Question Period by saying it is because of Premier Kathleen Wynne’s failed leadership that the province has signed unnecessary contracts for unneeded power.
