In an attempt to strangle the opioid crisis hitting the province, Crime Stoppers has doubled their reward amount for tips leading to fentanyl.
From now until May 31st, tips that lead directly to the seizure of fentanyl or an arrest will qualify for the double tip reward of $2,000.
Richard Mullen, Chair of Crime Stoppers Eastern Ontario, hopes the extra incentive will help get the drug off the streets. He said last year Crime Stoppers received over 4,000 quality tips, and that even the smallest piece of information could be a key piece of the puzzle to help locate fentanyl.
