A new carbon tax from the Wynne Liberals has Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark speaking out.
Wynne introduced the tax to try and fight climate change, but Clark points out that the new tax will end up costing rural families more.
Clark says rural families depend on their vehicles to get to and from work, with no options to take the bus or a subway. The tax will effect families most with increased prices at the gas pumps, which adds up to an extra 4.3 cents per litre.
Clark says this is a prime example of how the Liberal provincial government does not understand the burdens they place on rural families.
The new tax came into effect at the start of the New Year.
