Students struggling with mental health and addiction issues require a variety of supports and services in order to overcome these challenges and thrive. The mental health system is currently undergoing big changes, and knowing what services are available, as well as how to contact them, can be a challenge for many.
The Special Education Department at the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario is making it easier for schools to support students struggling with mental health and addiction, with the CDSBEO Community Core Services program. School staff will be trained to use a chart outlining community mental health and addiction resources, their specific services and contact information.
