A group of towns along the St. Lawrence River are joining together in order to bring dollars and business to the area. Prescott, along with six other towns, have agreed to support the creation of the St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission. All seven towns involved came together because of the similarities each community shares, which Prescott’s Chief Administrative Officer believes was an important first step.
Towns supporting the commission include Prescott, Brockville, Augusta, Edwardsburgh Cardinal, Elizabethtown Kitley, Front of Young, and Leeds and the Thousand Islands. Each town is paying four dollars per capita to join which will roughly cost Prescott $17,000.
