Brockville Police are warning the public to be aware when buying or renting properties on Kijiji. Brockville Police have received a high number of reports, typically where a seller will advertize a fraudulent property for rent. The seller will then request a portion of the rent be sent via e-transfer or wire transfer, with the buyer unable to get their money back. Police suggest meeting the seller in person and viewing the property before exchanging money. Police also warn to be on the lookout for “too good to be true” ads.
