The newly created Municipal Drug Strategy of South Grenville is hosting their first event at South Grenville District High School. Former NFL player Alvin Powell will be making two presentations about the dangers of drugs and addiction at South Grenville District High school on Monday. One will be geared to students, another will be geared to parents and families at 6:00pm. Powell struggled with drug addiction himself. South Grenville District High School Principal Guy Lamarche says he’s had Powell make the presentation before and that’s why he thought it would be perfect to bring him back.
Powell says parents will learn tips for talking with their children about drugs and how to recognize the first signs of trouble. Everyone is welcome to attend the event.
