Tall Ships Festival should be a boon to Brockville economy

Tall Ships Brockville could bring $4 million dollars or more to the local economy this weekend. The waterfront event happens every three to four years in Brockville. In 2013 it attracted about 45,000 visits. Brockville’s Director of Economic Development David Paul says they hope to replicate the success they’ve had in the past.

The festival will host 10 tall ships during the weekend, as well as smaller military and non-military boats. Paul says you should pick up your passport.

The festival runs Friday through Sunday. There’s also a special visit by a Naval frigate on Monday. The passport will allow you to get a tour of the HMCS Ville De Quebec. Details for the whole event can be found at www.tallshipsbrockville.com.
