Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Michael Barrett has a new title.
Barrett has been appointed Shadow Minister for Veterans Affairs by Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre.
A media release says he will be working to ensure veterans receive timely access to benefits and health care and better support for the transition to civilian life.
It adds that he will also strive to improve mental health and housing services for veterans as well as meaningful recognition of their service and sacrifice.
Before going into politics, Barrett served in the Canadian Armed Forces.
