Merrickville-Wolford’s begins annual roadside brushing program

Merrickville-Wolford’s annual roadside brushing program is underway.

Officials say the roadside brushing removes overgrown trees and brush along municipal roads which helps improve driver sightlines and control vegetation.

They say it also protects the road base from moisture and ice buildup, and provides space for snow storage during winter maintenance.

Planned roads for 2026 include Corktown Road, Montague Road and Yule Road.

Additional brushing locations may be added during the season as required.

It’s expected the program will run until mid-October.
